Sixth Grave on Edge-Darynda Jones

SIXTH GRAVE ON THE EDGE

by Darynda Jones

5-Star Review

I just love-love-love this series. Darynda Jones has rapidly become a favorite author of mine with this amazing series. The ongoing love story arc of Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper and Reyes, Son of Satan, takes on new twists with each title. What’s even better is that this incredibly talented author has hit her stride and simply gets better and better with each new book.

I have to say that I’m not wildly fond of angels, demons, etc. But Darynda Jones has made me love her stories, with a wise-cracking heroine (who else would name her two breasts Danger and Will Robinson? Or her living room sofa Sophie?)

About the Story

In trying to figure out what to say about the story…there are so many possibilities: Why is Charley being blackmailed by Albuquerque’s Chief of Police? What about the naked elderly dead guy haunting her beloved Jeep named Misery? What’s with the frantic guy desperate to get his soul back from a sort-of-but-not-quite demon who cheated it out of him? Then there’s her bestie Cookie’s crush on Charley’s Uncle Bob, the frantic, desperate ghost of a tortured little girl riding the cable car to the mountain top, and always…ALWAYS…her incredibly sexy, incredibly powerful Son of Satan–and the proposal he’s still waiting for her to give him an answer on.

What constantly amazes me about this series is how ably Darynda Jones can juggle at least a half-dozen story lines in each book, without confusing the reader, and while actually sewing those story lines up for the reader. Not to mention giving a lead-in for the next story. Heck, I’ve barely finished this book, and I’m already salivating for the next one!

Bottom Line

Darynda Jones is incredibly talented, and this book is another in a not-to-be-missed series. If you haven’t read the previous books in this series, I do recommend that you read them in order, if only to savor every word of this unbelievably good series.

HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION! DO NOT MISS THIS SERIES!
